Bus Rally - Sunday 5th June - 10.00am - 4.30pm

THERE will be a chance to take a trip down memory lane at the Andover vintage bus rally. The event is in support of the Andover Carnival charities and gives enthusiasts and all those seeking a taste of nostalgia a chance to see and ride on some of the buses of yesteryear.

The rally will be based in the George Yard car park and will include at least a dozen classic buses.

All journeys will start and end at the George Yard, and the specially timetabled trips will be free, although a donation to the carnival charities, in this instance Parkinson’s UK, is requested.

All bus drivers are volunteers who give their time free of charge, usually driving their own restored and cherished vehicles for their own pleasure and that of their passengers.

Routes will include:

Whitchurch, Stockbridge, Middle Wallop,

Danebury Ring, Enham Alamein,

Wherwell, Hurstbourne Priors and Hurstbourne Tarrant.

There will also be a bus running a shuttle circuit around the railway station, bus station and East Street every half an hour starting at 10am at the rail station.

It is expected there will be buses from the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s and possibly some even older.

This is the first major bus running day in Andover since 2005 and has been made possible thanks to the bus owners, Andover Carnival Committee, Mail Boxes Etc and Laststop Design.
